Description:
This person will spend time working in an office and the rest of their workday in the field overseeing the project and staff at the jobsites. The FE will work closely with the project superintendent in managing mixed use (residential and commercial) construction projects and commercial fit-ups. The FE works with the construction team to make sure projects run safely, smoothly, and effectively.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing subcontractors and their schedules
- Monitor jobsite time management to meet overall project milestones
- Assist with or plan construction procedures
- Manage material and equipment orders and deliveries
- Reviewing work in place and approving shop drawings for compliance with the project specifications
- Working with Architects, Engineers and building officials
- Reviewing and approving project designs
- Assist in project layouts and trade coordination
- Assist in building inspections, project and trade permitting
- Understanding the project budget and finding solutions to complex problems including design and efficiencies
- Monitoring construction costs, budgets, reviewing proposals and identifying scope gaps
- Insure and monitor project safety
- Assist in quantity reporting, daily labor reports and project documentation
- Assist in project estimating and cost control reporting
- Assist in project turnovers with unit inspections and mechanical equipment training
- Managing employees and project labor force
- Inspecting equipment and systems as they are brought on-line for safety, operation, repairs and upgrades
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in Construction Management or
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in a similar role
- Knowledge in the construction of multi-family/mixed used & commercial projects a preferred
• Ability to work in a stressful environment - Strong organizational skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to plan and execute work independently
• Ability to read construction plans and specifications
• Ability to resolve disputes
• Capacity to handle multiple tasks at the same time
• Capacity to read and understand legal documents and contracts
• Computer experience in Procore, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and Smartsheets preferred
• Effective communication skills
• Team player, willing to help others
