This position is responsible for vetting financing options for senior management approval, maintaining professional relationships with the finance entities, and source new funding for existing and former projects for more favorable terms.

Reporting Relationship

The Financing Relations Specialist may supervise the Financial Analyst.

Duties & Essential Job Functions

  • Secure financing for new projects by reviewing financial models; provide input to senior management for selection of financial entities to contact for RFP
  • Manage proposal process with financial entities, providing document packets, negotiating financing terms, and making selection to obtain best structure and terms for the project
  • Work with selected financial entity, Bank of ND, appraiser, title company and other stakeholders, along with EPIC Capital and EPIC Developer, to obtain all required information, and find solutions as needed to close construction and other loans
  • Manage all finance-related documents; review prior to owner signature; save in appropriate format and file for ease of access
  • Source new funding for existing and former projects using larger secondary market lenders at times to obtain more favorable loan terms and enhance cash flow of existing projects
  • Review financial information to ensure company is meeting banking requirements; communicate to bank and EPIC team to ensure all parties have correct and current information
  • Provide and maintain reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity

Periodic Functions and Responsibilities

  • Review financial information with commercial leasing team to assist in obtaining potential commercial tenants
  • Prepare agenda and attend weekly internal finance meetings with accounting, CEO, and president
  • Obtain and forward ongoing financial information to banks for existing loans, as requested by other banks
  • Work with other team members to prepare financial spreadsheets needed by banks or secondary market lenders
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field of study, and
  • Ten years relevant experience

  • Possess analytical skills and the ability to apply them to determine finance options
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business communication
  • Possess strong knowledge of banking and financial negotiation
  • Possess knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Understand and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in both written and oral forms
  • Ability to comprehend written and oral communication
  • Ability to proof and check documents for accuracy
  • Demonstrate high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to review and record data with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing tasks and demands and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to establish relationships with clients, peers, and management
  • Ability to type/keyboard with minimal errors
