The REIT Manager will formulate and execute tax and accounting related portfolio management strategies for the investments of the EPIC REIT and affiliated entities, including development and evaluations of potential business opportunities. Additionally, the REIT Manager will oversee REIT compliance and investment structuring.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate and review all quarterly and annual working papers that relate to the REIT’s reporting and compliance requirements (to ensure REIT compliance)
  • Assist with the preparation and review of the legal entity financial statements for each of the REIT’s potential underlying subsidiaries that support the year-end tax filings
  • Work closely with all stakeholders within the organization to ensure the accounting records for the various legal entities are complete and accurate, and proactively identify and analyze accounting transactions that may have an impact on the REIT’s income tax filings or financial statements
  • Liaise with the REIT’s internal real estate team, REIT investors, and external tax advisors as part of REIT implementation and operations
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the REIT’s third-party partners as it relates to income tax filings and analysis
  • Manage the tax and accounting related to the REIT’s acquisition, divestment or improvement of assets, borrowing and all related aspects, in accordance with REIT’s stated investment strategy and risk management policies
  • Prepare various property plans on a regular basis to explain the performance of the assets of the REIT
  • Assist management with any audits which may occur from time to time
  • Assist with the tax and accounting related to the re-capitalization of certain business entities, including equity contributions
  • Assist with preparation of investor materials and investor discussions relating to tax limitations and benefits of investing through a REIT


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or related field required
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience of REIT management or accounting experience (income tax accounting in real estate or related field, preferred). Prefer public accounting REIT diligence and/or compliance experience

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and responsible individual with proven track record of taking ownership and diligently ensuring all loose ends are resolved
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels within the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills, including advanced Excel, and familiarity with Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
