Description:

The Leasing Agent is responsible for renting out housing properties and assisting tenants with their needs. Their duties include but are not limited to meeting with prospective tenants to determine lease terms, receiving security deposits and coordinating with current tenants to discuss lease changes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Meeting potential renters and guiding them on tours of available units
  • Following up on leads for potential renters
  • Marketing assigned properties through Facebook Market Place and other social media.
  • Performing background checks, credit checks and other responsibilities to see if prospective renters are qualified.
  • Answering office phones as assigned
  • Attending monthly meetings
  • Preparing all leasing documents for potential renters using property standards and regulations
  • Enforcing all aspects of the lease agreement
  • Handling the collection of rent payments, security deposits and application fees
  • Keeping residents informed of any changes to rental agreements or upcoming property issues.
  • Building a rapport with current tenants to give them personalized service.
  • Performing routine building audits and checks of community facilities such as mailrooms, fitness centers and laundry rooms.
  • Must be able to work rotating Saturdays.
  • Light travel within ND
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • In-depth understanding of the real estate industry, including laws, policies, and best practices
  • Personable, professional, outgoing
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to manage scheduled showings.
  • Good organization, project management and time management abilities
  • Great customer service skills
  • Efficient problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Multitasking and time management skills
  • Collaboration and teamwork abilities
  • Must have clean driving record

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • General computer understanding and willingness to learn the Property Ware Program
  • 1 year leasing preferred but not necessary.
